Final concept video
Background
For this project, I researched and developed a conceptual redesign for the app. My work included practical techniques for researching, designing and prototyping mobile applications and experiences. Additionally, my project involved of wireframe creation, user studies, personas, journey mapping, UI/UX design, and paper/digital prototyping.
Content analysis
There were several steps taken to reach the final UI comp. I began with primary and secondary research on the application and users. First, I conducted content analysis on Daily Horoscope's user reviews.
All 478 customer reviews and 672 customer ratings were reviewed in order to achieve an in-depth analysis of the overall user experience and interface of DailyHoroscope app's most updated version.
Generally, users have a positive user experience; the horoscope readings are extremely accurate and easy to read. in relation to interface, the overall navigation was easy and simple to use.
Aesthetically, the applications design and color palette are dark, boring and dull, which takes away from the app's overall success.
User research
In addition, I implemented interviews and focus group research methods to acquire primary data regarding user experience and interface.
Respondents were randomly selected, with varying experience levels interacting with the app. Based on my observations , respondents were generally pleased with the app, its navigation and content. However, all respondents negatively commented on the overall color scheme and graphics.
